Ryan Bowling, director of marketing for OMB, recently graduated from the Missouri Bankers Association’s Banking Leadership Missouri program during the organization’s 132nd annual convention held June 8-10 at the Hilton Branson Convention Center.

Bowling was among 33 bankers from throughout Missouri who completed the MBA’s 12-month leadership development program designed to actively enhance the leadership, organizational and performance skills of highly motivated mid- to upper-level bankers. Courses focused on emerging bank issues, government relations, ethics, leadership styles, workplace culture and communications. Banking Leadership Missouri establishes a network of future bank leaders who can respond to local and national issues affecting the banking industry and their communities.

“Through Banking Leadership Missouri, Ryan developed a deeper understanding of the issues affecting the banking industry,” said Jackson Hataway, MBA president. “Ryan is a leader in his community and he is among the next leaders in his bank and our association.”

Bowling, who has nearly 18 years of marketing and communications experience and eight years of banking experience, joined OMB in January, 2022 as vice president and director of marketing. He is a Certified Financial Marketing Professional through the American Bankers Association and a member of the MBA’s Communications Committee. Locally, Bowling serves on the Springfield Sports Commission’s board of directors.

“The experience and connections made through this fantastic leadership program will serve Ryan and our bank well into the future,” said Mark Harrington, OMB president and CEO. “As a community bank, it’s incredibly important that we invest in our employees and take the necessary steps to prepare the next generation of banking professionals. I commend Ryan on his achievement and look forward to his continued growth as a leader in our industry.”
